It seems that I’m on a winter break theme here at MPPT. I guess I can never get enough of the allure of warm, crystal blue waters when weather is so cold here in the dead of winter.
Anyway, while discussing options for a family member’s 40th birthday bash, I realized just how great of a deal staying at the Hyatt Zilara resort in Cancun (no children under 16 allowed) or the Hyatt Ziva in Los Cabos (family friendly) can be when both members of a couple open one credit card each.
I’ve mentioned it many times before, but the Chase Hyatt credit card gives you two free nights at any Hyatt in the world upon spending $1,000 in the first 3 months after opening the credit card. The annual fee of $75 is waived for the first year of card membership. If each person signed up, you’d have four free nights. That’s four nights of accommodation, food, drinks, etc. for just opening up two credit cards! I am not a fan of all-inclusives as the point of them is to stay and not go anywhere. We are more into some exploration, but this is such a great deal that we may give it some more thought!
If four nights isn’t enough, you can always transfer some Ultimate Rewards to your Hyatt account for a few more nights (if you’d like to know how to best obtain Ultimate Rewards, I’m happy to help!). The Hyatt Zilara is 25,000 points per night and the Hyatt Ziva is 20,000 per night. Keep in mind that you’re only allowed two people in a room and that each additional person comes with an additional cost. So, it our case, it would be more expensive as a family of four. But to have all your food, drinks, etc. taken care would be awesome.
It appears that these resorts have gotten high marks from travelers so hopefully we’ll be able to check them out someday! Has anyone stayed at either all-inclusive in Mexico? I’d love to hear your experiences!
